Why should I consider becoming a Yelsa affiliated licensed Real Estate Agent?

How do I become a Yelsa Affiliated licensed Real Estate Agent?

If you would like to become a Yelsa affiliated licensed Real Estate Agent, download the Yelsa app and register your Real Estate Professional profile.  Once approved you can receive invitations made by home Sellers for your services.

What are the costs?

It’s free to create a Professional Profile and register on Yelsa. Sellers can choose to invite an Agent to represent them from the Agents directory. If you choose to accept, you pay a one-off referral fee for each property to Yelsa of $295.00.

How does commission and fees work when I am acting as a Yelsa affiliated licensed Real Estate Agent?

When you agree to the Yelsa Terms & Conditions (in particular the terms and conditions relating to having a professional profile displayed on the agent directory on the Yelsa app), you agree you will only be legally authorised by your membership to charge a real estate fee which represents no greater than a total of 1% plus gst on the full sale price of the property.

When you accept an invitation from a vendor to represent their home in a sale process, you are doing so in your capacity as a licensed real estate agent, and independently of Yelsa.  Accordingly you are required to meet all of the usual obligations and requirements imposed upon you by the statute which governs your industry.  You must comply with all of the established legal requirements incumbent on agents when listing properties including (however not limited to) your obligations under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 and the Anti Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.

What services will I be expected to provide to the Home Seller when invited through Yelsa?

The Yelsa process starts with potential Buyers known to the home Sellers, so in effect you could be expected by a vendor to undertake your usual real estate work, starting from having contact details for these potential Buyers.  You could be expected to arrange and conduct viewings with Buyers, receive instructions from purchasers, prepare and negotiate contracts, then industry typical contract management through to settlement.

How long does it take for Yelsa to process my application?

How do I know if a Seller has selected my profile as a Yelsa affiliated Real Estate professional?

You will receive an email notification from Yelsa with the details of a Seller who has selected you to provide professional services. You have 24 hours to either accept or decline this invitation.

What should I do if I am unavailable to undertake a request for my services?

If you are unable to provide professional services you can Decline the invitation. If you are going away on holiday or taking a break from Real Estate, you can set your profile to private and not show in the Agent directory until you reactivate the profile.
